When a team is good, season ticket prices go up, and when a team stinks, season ticket prices go down, or remain flat.

Not exactly rocket science there, but the Eagles are on the good side of the spectrum right now, and coming off a Super Bowl appearance, STH were sent invoices this week. According to one CB reader, their seats in the upper end zone area went up $60 for the year and prime sideline lower bowl went up $250 per. Everything else in between also increased.

Our reader has three sets of two tickets in three different sections. Here are the price increases:

  • Lower Level A:  $4,490  –> $5,000
  • Lower Level C:  $3,724  –> $4,200
  • Upper Level Endzone: $2,080  –> $2,200

For these three sets of tickets, six in all, their total increased from $10,294 to $11,400. That’s about $1,100.

One of the quirky things here is the NFL’s unbalanced schedule, which saw the Eagles play nine home games and eight road games in 2022. This upcoming season, they’ll play eight at home and nine on the road, so the Birds sell their season tickets in 10-game packages, either 8 home + 2 preseason games or 9 home + 1 preseason games. You have to factor that in when calculating the price increase, i.e. you’re getting one fewer regular season game in the 2023 package, so it feels like even more of an increase than it actually is.

Another oddity is that the Eagles don’t actually inform STH of price increases. They just get an email to log in and view their invoice, while some of the other teams in town send out a formal letter notifying their STH of a hike.

Eagles season tickets have increased in price every single year since Super Bowl 52, with the exception being 2021, after the four-win/COVID season that saw Doug Pederson get fired. Otherwise there were increases in 2017, 18, 19, 20, 22, and now 23.
