Hockey Doesn’t Count on First Take

This is pretty good. Michael Kay was on First Take and this happened:

They don’t count” is a wild thing to say. It’s the New York Rangers! And ESPN has the NHL rights!

I guess you have to give Stephen A some credit for saying that he knows nothing about hockey. At least he’s willing to admit it, and he may be the only person out there who actually likes Gary Bettman.

When you do the hot take shows, you talk football and basketball, maybe some baseball, and that’s about it. Still, they’re treating the Rangers here like they’re some XFL team. They may as well be the D.C. Defenders, with D’Eriq King and former Temple running back Ryquell Armstead. But it’s not the D.C. Defenders, it’s the Rangers. They’ve got Panarin and Zibanejad. They traded for Kane and Tarasenko. Their slovenly fans took over the Wells Fargo Center. They’re just as close to a title as the Yankees and Mets, and definitely further along than the Nets, Knicks, Giants, Jets, and Islanders.
