Jerry Jones Once Again Talking Out of his Rear End
This story is a few days old, but it’s worth a post anyway.
Jerry Jones was at the NFL Combine and made a stupid comparison with Dak Prescott and Tom Brady, via Jon Machota at The Athletic:
Jones sounded as committed as ever to Prescott as the team’s franchise QB. Jones is confident that Prescott will clean up the turnover issue of 2022, adding that, like seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady, Prescott has the ability to play better as he ages. Prescott turns 30 in July. Brady won his first of three league MVPs at age 30. However, Brady had also won three Super Bowls by his age 30 season. “I think just as Brady became, in my mind, better and better and more impactful on how they won as he got into his career, I think Dak really has those qualities,” Jones said. “I think he can get better.”
Dude please. Dak doesn’t have half the qualities that Tom Brady has. Dak is 2-4 in the playoffs over seven seasons. Brady had multiple Super Bowls in the same early-career time frame. Sure, maybe Prescott rounds the corner when he turns 30, but he’s not gonna play into his 40s and make the Pro Bowl at age 44. Jerry is basically just saying that he thinks Prescott will improve with age in the same way Brady did, but even mentioning those two guys in the same breath is nonsense. It’s Jerry talking out of his ass again.
