NFL Rescinded CJGJ's Fine for Super Bowl Hit
Another Eagles nugget here:
The NFL rescinded #Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s $14,111 fine for a hit in the fourth quarter of Super Bowl LVII, per source.
No flag was thrown. CGJ’s agent, Kevin Conner of @UniSportsMgmt, confirmed the successful appeal.

This is the right decision. The only thing CJGJ was guilty of is laying the absolute wood on Pacheco. In real time, it looked like a totally clean play, and one of the only good things the defense did all night long:

When they slow it down, it does look like he’s leading with the crown of the helmet, but like Pelissero mentioned, there was no flag on the play. Speaking of which, I honestly can’t remember the last time the refs even flagged anyone for that, ever since they introduced the “lowering the helmet” rule a few years ago and over-officiated it from the jump. That went away quickly, didn’t it?
The next piece of CJGJ news we need is a new Eagles contract.
