Shocker: Voter from The Ringer Has Joel Embiid on his All-NBA Second Team
Joel Embiid is the odds-on favorite to win MVP, but Michael Pina thinks he’s a second team all-NBA player:
How might the All-NBA teams shake out? We know how they’ll look for at least one voter.@MichaelVPina’s All-NBA team selections: pic.twitter.com/dSrocLemXQ

Pina was with Sports Illustrated last year, but gave his MVP vote to Nikola Jokic. Looks like he’s gonna go Joker or Giannis this year, if this ballot is any indication.
It’s funny because we do the joke about the 47 voters at The Ringer who love Jokic and hate Embiid, but when you look at shit like this, is it even a quip? It’s closer to reality than you may realize. There’s actually something to it. And yes, there are restrictions here because the voting is still broken down by position, so you can’t put Embiid, Jokic, AND Giannis all on the first team, but still, Joel is the scoring leader and MVP favorite so he should be a shoe-in first teamer across the board.
Pina, mind you, is a Boston native, so go figure. Maybe Daryl Morey was right when he talked about the “shameless” and “overrepresented” Boston media.
