The 76ers Scored 3 Points in the Last Six Minutes of the 4th Quarter
Just as we started to believe a teensy tiny amount in the Sixers they deliver a 4th quarter collapse for the ages. It was 83-81 after Tyrese Maxey’s two free throws and we wouldn’t see the ball go through the net again until the shot clock was turned off:
From the 5:57 mark to 22.1 seconds left in the fourth quarter, the Sixers scored 1 point.
0-for-9 from the field to end the game (before the garbage time jumper).
In a closeout game at home to avoid Game 7. Just a disastrous finish.

Series on the line and all they could do was muster 86 points. That wouldn’t have been enough to beat either the Raptors or Sixers in a Game 7…from 20 years ago. The last time the Sixers went to the Eastern Conference Finals. I can’t wait until they build the stadium downtown. At least it’ll be a closer walk to the river.
How do you go this cold in the 4th quarter?
Sixers in the 4th quarter:
Melton: 0-4
Tucker: 0-1
Harden: 0-4
Embiid: 3-6
Maxey: 1-3
Harris: 0-0
Jaden Springer: 1-1

Don’t worry it gets worse. They were outscored by Jayson Tatum:

Now we gotta go back and win a third time in Boston. Mother’s Day is cancelled. The Sixers might not be far behind:

Doc Rivers now falls to 17-32 (34.7%) straight up with a chance to clinch a series.
His 32 losses in this spot is by far the most of any coach in NBA history. pic.twitter.com/TGfwOkVxRy
