Woj:

That’s two assistants confirmed. Rico Hines and Bobby Jackson. Sam Cassell is off to Boston, Dan Burke is joining Monty Williams in Detroit, and no news yet on Dave Joerger.

Hines played at UCLA back in the day and has a coaching resume that includes stops at Golden State, St. John’s, and Reno/Stockton, which is the Kings’ G League affiliate. As Woj notes, Hines then linked up with Nurse in Toronto.

Bobby Jackson also has a Kings connection and took the Stockton head coaching job in 2021. He had a 12-year NBA career and won 2003 6th Man of the Year on the Sacramento team that included Mike Bibby, Chris Webber, and Peja Stojakovic. He joined the Kings’ coaching staff in 2011 and also had a stint in Minnesota.

It’s good to have Rico Hines in town. He’d probably go on the Mount Rushmore of Ricos, along with Uncle Rico from Napoleon Dynamite, Phillies legend Rico Brogna, and writer/editor Don Rico.
