Penn Baseball is on an Absolute Tear
Penn baseball is an absolute wagon right now and it’s time you got on board! They hadn’t won a regional tournament college baseball game in 30+ years and now they’re knocking on the door of the next round. The 1500/1 dog is one win away from advancing, with wins already over #14 Auburn and Samford this weekend. The best part is that they’re everything you’d expect an Ivy League baseball team to be.
They put on an absolute bunting clinic against Auburn in extras:
USING BUNTS TO BEAT GIANTS@PennBaseball is the first Ivy League school to EVER beat an SEC team in the NCAA baseball tournament…
And they made it happen with THREE straight bunts in the 11th#BuntLife#CreateChaos

They’ve got great fundamentals:

It’s not all boring though! This is how their game against Samford ended after they were up three runs going into the 9th:
Absolute circus to end Penn Samford game.

They’ve got a little something for everyone.
They lost to Southern Miss 11-2 last night in the regional final, but with double elimination, the Cinderella run isn’t over yet. They had won 10 in a row before last night, which should be under protest. Look at this also ump show with two outs and bases loaded in the 4th:

The rule here is the batter has to be in the box before the pitch clock hits 10 seconds. That still looks like 10 on the clock to me:
What an ump show.
Penn plays today at 3pm on ESPN+ in a winner-take-all game. Do it for Mark DeRosa and Doug Glanville.
