The Vegas Golden Knights hammered the Matthew Tkachuk-less Florida Panthers Tuesday, 9-3, to night to claim their first Stanley Cup. Congratulations to all of the long-suffering Knights fans! It’s been a tortured existence these past six years.

As we look ahead now, the Flyers are +15000 to win it all next year, which is the second-longest number currently going.

Via BetMGM:

  • Avs (+800)
  • Oilers (+900)
  • Bruins (+1000)
  • Leafs (+1200) *do not put money on Toronto to win it all
  • Hurricanes (+1200)
  • Devils (+1400)
  • Rangers (+1400)
  • Golden Knights (+1300)
  • Stars (+1600)
  • Lightning (+1600)
  • Panthers (+1800)
  • Flames (+2200)
  • Kings (+2200)
  • Wild (+3000)
  • Penguinos (+3500)
  • Sabres (+4000)
  • Senators (+4000)
  • Islanders (+5000)
  • Kraken (+5000)
  • Canucks (+5000)
  • Jets (+5000)
  • Red Wings (+6600)
  • Predators (+6600)
  • Blues (+6600)
  • Capitals (+6600)
  • Blue Jackets (+12500)
  • Yotes (+15000)

  • Ducks (+25000)
  • Canadiens (+25000)

Gotta start somewhere. We’re scraping the bottom of the barrel with perennial losers like the Ducks and Coyotes, but the good thing about being in the basement is that there’s only one way to go, unless you jackhammer the concrete slab and burrow into the Earth. It’s a new era of orange and time to get Flyered up, because Wayne Gretzky has given Jonesy his blessing:

FWIW, if you’re a six-year-old Vegas fan, you’ve seen more Stanley Cup triumphs in your lifetime than a Flyers fan who is now in their late 40s. But don’t worry, our time is nigh. Danny Briere and Keith Jones will get this thing turned around.
