Delco stand up. We’re going to the Little League World Series! Hide your kids, hide your wives.
What’s amazing is that this was Media’s first (and obviously only) hit of the game. It was 0-0 until the bottom of the 7th. Then Trevor Skowronek with a fucking missile to right center, on an 0-2 count, no less. The fans must have given this kid a standing ovation earlier in the week.
Matt De George at The Delco Times:
Media is just the third team from Delco to make the Little League World Series in the 12U division, per the LLWS website. Newtown Edgemont made it in 1967, finishing in third place in the eight-team international tournament. The Exchange Club Little League in Upper Darby made the 1956 World Series.
Love it. What a moment for those kids. That’s a story you can tell over and over and over again and it will never get old. Trevor Skowronek drinks free Shirley Temples in Delco for the rest of his life. Can’t wait to see what these guys do in Williamsport.
