Flyers Getting Massimo Rizzo After All

Anthony has a Flyers trade:
The @NHLFlyers wanted Carolina prospect Massimo Rizzo when they tried to trade the Hurricanes Tony DeAngelo.
That deal was nixed by the league, & TDA was bought out.
Well, Today, I’m hearing Flyers GM Danny Briere has worked a deal to get Rizzo anyway. Waiting on final details.— Anthony SanFilippo (@AntSanPhilly) August 9, 2023
Hearing the rights to David Kase going back to Carolina from the @NHLFlyers not sure if that’s all. Still waiting on final confirmation.

The @NHLFlyers are also getting a fifth round pick as well as Rizzo for Kase. That’s it.
It’s not clear yet whether Rizzo will sign an ELC or return to the University of Denver.— Anthony SanFilippo (@AntSanPhilly) August 9, 2023
Kase most recently played for Sparta Praha in his native Czech Republic, though he did have separate Philly stints resulting in seven Flyers appearances and more than 100 for the Phantoms.
Rizzo, as Ant notes, is a Denver Pioneer and 22-year-old left-handed center who earned All-American honors en route to the program’s 2022 National Championship. He was drafted 219th overall by the Canes in the 2019 draft.
It’s not a blockbuster trade, but Danny Briere went and figured out a way to get the guy he originally wanted in the failed Tony DeAngelo move.
