Aaron Rodgers went down on the first Jets series on Monday night. ABSOLUTELY BRUTAL! Yeah, the Jets found a way to win (that defense is killer), but they need a backup QB now, because they were only carrying two to start the season and just lost one to a torn Achilles, reportedly.

Should Joe Douglas get on the phone and DO THE DEAL? Nick Foles is out there. Carson Wentz is out there. He knows both guys from his tenure as VP of Player Personnel. It makes too much sense!

Resume/bulletpoints for each guy:

Nick Foles

  • has a huge dick
  • world champion of Super Bowl 52, no matter what Noah Lyles says
  • called for, and executed, the Philly Special (you want Philly Philly? yeah let’s do it)
  • would have won a second ring if Alshon had not dropped it
  • consummate teammate and professional
  • 34 years old
  • knows Joe Douglas, who was with the Eagles from 2016 to 2019
  • looking to rebound from underwhelming post-Philadelphia stints in Chicago, Indy, and Jacksonville

Carson Wentz

  • would have been 2017 MVP if not for the injury
  • played a key role in getting Eagles home field advantage in the playoffs
  • CONSUMMATE TEAMMATE AND PROFESSIONAL! (wink wink)
  • 30 years old
  • knows Joe Douglas, who was with the Eagles from 2016 to 2019
  • has had plenty of time to recover from the injuries
  • looking to rebound from underwhelming post-Philadelphia stints in Indy and Washington
  • chip on shoulder, needs to prove the doubters wrong

The Jets do have a QB named “Tim Boyle” on their practice squad, whoever the fuck that is. He’s got 3 career NFL touchdowns and 8 interceptions. Surely Foles or Wentz is an upgrade, and look, if Zach Wilson goes down after Aaron Rodgers went down, you’ve still got a chance because that defense is gonna keep you in every game. All you need is a “game manager” to hand the ball to Breece Hall and Dalvin Cook and make some basic throws. They can absolutely win with a third stringer.

Not sure if I’m serious or if this was a shit post, but Joe Douglas should call one of these guys:
