Angelo Cataldi Says Trea Turner Standing Ovation was a “Wake Up Call”

Angelo Cataldi was on 94 WIP this morning. Why? Dunno. Probably promoting his new book. He said this though:
“The Trea Turner thing really was a wake up call to me that things are different. That fans now are willing to be more positive towards their team than they were 20, 25 years ago, when I was doing it.”

Well it’s funny you mention that, because there’s a direct correlation! Angelo was the #1 person fomenting that negativity, so there’s your captain obvious reason for the hoagie mouth outrage of yesteryear.
WIP is different now. Sure, they still throw up some insanely idiotic polls, like “have you soured on the Eagles win over the Cowboys,” but the staff is generally more pragmatic and empathetic. That’s a good thing. You’ve got guys like Jack Fritz saying “hey maybe instead of killing this player, we show support instead.” What a concept! 20 years ago, we would have put 30 morons on a bus and sent them up to New York to boo. This Philly sports ecosystem is better than that one was.
