Nine months after exiting Glendale three points short of a Super Bowl victory, the Eagles are 2.5-point underdogs in their revenge game at Kansas City. Philadelphia is an NFL-best 8-1, but Caesars still has the Birds as slight underdogs in what many expect to be a lower-scoring affair than February’s 38-35 desert shootout.
Since suffering an embarrassing 20-14 loss to the Jets in Week 6, the Eagles have won three in a row. Two of those victories came against the Dolphins and Cowboys, the two best teams Philly has encountered through ten weeks. Meanwhile, the Chiefs responded to a stunning 24-9 loss against the Broncos with a 21-14 win over the Fins in Germany. KC’s only other loss was a one-point upset in Week 1 against a Lions team that just won its eighth game on Sunday.
Best MNF Bets on Caesars
There are numerous ways to make money off tonight’s game. But if you’re looking for my favorite plays, consider these props.
First, I expect over 46 points. Kansas City has a great defense, but Philly’s is so-so. Conversely, both offenses can light up a scoreboard, primarily the Eagles and their third-ranked scoring attack (28.0 PPG). After combining for 73 points on the biggest stage in sports, I don’t know why people think we’ll see close to 30 fewer points in the rematch.
Sticking with offense, I love Jalen Hurts to get into the endzone at -120 odds. Some books have this prop at plus money, but even -120 is enough for me when Hurts has seven of the Eagles’ 12 rushing touchdowns this season. I’d also consider Caesars’ “Fly, Eagles Fly” boost, which puts +170 odds (prev. +150) on Hurts eclipsing 200+ passing yards and 40+ rushing yards.
Finally, I’m going with Patrick Mahomes over 284.5 passing yards (-109). The Eagles’ league-best run defense is neutralized by their 29th-rated pass defense. Mahomes will throw the ball a ton, and even though he’s only gone over 284.5 yards three times this year, the game script will work in his favor.
