Jim Harbaugh Thinks Michigan Should be “America’s Team”

Jim Harbaugh, who is currently suspended amid allegations of sign-stealing, said this Monday:

Ah yes. Nothing says “America’s Team” like cheating to gain a competitive advantage. Allegedly. I’m ordering my Wolverine gear on Fanatics right now. Go Blue!
The victim complex is strong here. I agree with what Paul Finebaum said on SportsCenter, via Awful Announcing:
“I found it sad and pathetic,” said Finebaum on SportsCenter. “Why? Because this isn’t America’s team. This isn’t what America’s about. Here we are, just days removed from Veteran’s Day where we honor people who are really representative of America. This team is not representative of anything other than a program accused of cheating. Cheating!
“Trying to steal signs to gain an unfair advantage. That’s not the way this country was built and that’s not what should be described as America’s team.”
Finebaum was also critical of the support that Harbaugh’s players and assistant coaches have shown for him, saying, “There’s only so much fake outrage you can display and I think we saw a year’s worth from his assistant coaches and players (Saturday).”
The other issue is that there already is an “America’s Team,” which is the Dallas Cowboys, and if you look at both Michigan and Dallas, there’s a lot in common. Since the 2015 season, Michigan has 0 bowl wins and Dallas hasn’t advanced past the divisional round. Neither team has won a title since Bill Clinton was in office and Blockbuster was still in business. They were both complete ass for various stretches of the 2000s.
If Michigan is America’s Team, then I’m Eric Clapton on the guitar. Go Buckeyes! O-H, I-O!
