The Bills smoked the Cowboys on Sunday by a final score of 31 to 10. They ran the ball up and down the field and Josh Allen only had to throw it 15 times. The final box looks like something out of a college football game:

Funny thing is, Buffalo has not been some rushing powerhouse, at least not in the sense of the running backs doing most of the damage. James Cook is having himself a really nice sophomore year, but he had only logged one 100-yard game prior to last night, and when the Bills put up 34 on the Eagles in Philadelphia, it was Josh Allen leading the way with 81 yards and two scores. Devin Singletary only had about 75 more rushing yards than Allen in the entirety of last year’s regular season.

But we all knew Dallas was going to lose again. Of course they were. They leave Texas and get their asses totally kicked. It’s one thing to take a lead and then run the ball and control the clock, which is what opponents of the “run the ball” Eagles half-joke like to say on social media. In this specific game, however, Buffalo went up 14-0 on three drives that included 16 runs on 26 total plays. A couple of those were Allen scrambles, but Cook, Ty Johnson, and Latavius Murray combined for 13 carries, so 50% of the calls. D’Andre Swift hasn’t had 13 carries since November, nor has he eclipsed 15 scrimmage touches since the first Dallas game, way back on November 5th.

We aren’t necessarily “run the ball” OR “pass the ball” guys, since the best NFL offenses always have a good play calling balance, but look at this reel and tell me you wouldn’t love seeing Swift in the Cook role:
