Brandon Staley. The hottest coaching candidate in 2021 was fired Friday:

It was only a matter of time after the Chargers lost 63-21 to the Raiders.

Staley, you may recall, wouldn’t get on a plane to interview for the Eagles job because he didn’t like Howie Roseman, according to Jeff McLane at the Inky:

“Brandon Staley had many reasons for taking the Chargers job — Justin Herbert being maybe the most prominent — but Roseman was a significant reason why he canceled a scheduled interview, two NFL sources close to the situation said. Lurie certainly didn’t want to bring in a failure. He has done fairly well in identifying unproven coaches. But he may have finally crapped out on his first roll.”

I kept that last part in there in case Jeffrey Lurie reads this and wants to unbutton his trousers and let his nuts hang in NovaCare. “May have finally crapped out on his first roll?” Not so fast my friend! He found another unproven coach again who became the best hire of the seven that got jobs that year. Brandon Staley, on the other hand lost, to AOC 63-21 last night and it wasn’t an election year.

Since that article, Howie Roseman has a Super Bowl appearance, won Executive of the Year, and is about to have three straight playoff seasons. This guy didn’t want to take an interview with him:

Howie Roseman would probably give him a job now! As his bitch. Put a collar on him and walk him like a dog around the facility.

What a bullet the Eagles dodged. Could you imagine this guy dealing with the Eagles media?

Nick Sirianni is on his 15th question about pre-snap motion this week.

I’ll forever hate Brandon Staley for ruining the “Tie Game” against the Raiders on Sunday Night Football. I think the tie odds were going off at 15/1 that night. We were all counting our money. Instead everyone’s night was ruined by him calling that timeout in OT when the Raiders were happy to let the game end 32-32.

Even had his own QB begging for a tie:

Raiders get the first down, kick the field goal, and the Chargers are bounced from the playoffs. One of the worst coaching decisions of all time.
