There were three plays that really bothered the shit out of me in this game. One – Jalen Hurts throwing deep for A.J. Brown with DeVonta Smith wide open underneath. Two – the ridiculous scramble on third down, running around like a chicken with his head cut off. Three – the Quez Watkins deep bomb that turned into an interception. Brian Baldinger went over all three in this video:

You probably noticed in real time that Quez wasn’t even ready for that play. He was still looking at Brown and signaling to him when the ball was snapped. It was right there in the middle of the TV screen, so it was obvious. Jalen just didn’t have to go there with the ball in that particular moment, not even if Smith or Brown was the receiver. There was no need for a deep shot.

It seems like he’s enamored with that pass, when every other team you watch is happy to throw a check down or pick up guaranteed yardage. Not the Eagles though. It’s bombs away! Lack of awareness, inability to control the game and stay ahead of the chains. They look fundamentally broken on offense. If you can’t score more than 17 points against that team, good luck going on the road in the playoffs and doing anything meaningful.
