Dallas Goedert Implies the Eagles Took Their Foot Off the Gas After Clinching Playoff Berth
I wish the Eagles would’ve informed us they were planning on mailing it in for the last part of the schedule. I would’ve found a Sunday hobby:
“I know everybody in this locker room is ready to go to work for the playoffs. Ever since 4 or 5 weeks ago when we clinched the playoffs, I think everybody has just been waiting for the playoffs… I think everybody will be ready to go and show the world what we’re capable of”… pic.twitter.com/A5HI5vmURC

Dallas Goedert: “Maybe we’ve been on cruise control a little bit, which is never something you want to say or want a team to do. But I know this team is going to be rolling and ready to go next week.”

I’ll say this, it worked for the Phillies in 2022…
But how much do we believe Dallas vs. how much is just player speak? Sure we’re 0-0, but we’re also 2-5 since beating the Chiefs. There are hundreds of concerns with this team, but the scary part is it’s more than just the talent on the roster. It’s nothing the players can control. We have Haason Reddick and Josh Sweat dropping into coverage and no one covering the middle of the field. Then, on the other side of the ball, Kenny Gainwell is averaging 10.5 ypc in the first quarter Sunday only for Brian Johnson to move away from the run and throw the ball most of the second quarter. Personally, I only listen to Josh Sweat after games. I can’t tolerate the slam poet quarterback anymore or the head coach that’s now using Rocky quotes in a last-ditch effort to pander to the fanbase. Sweat is the only one that is 100% honest. Just a guy that can’t keep his emotions in check and the reporters know that so they attach themselves to him like a fly on shit because they know he won’t give them “player speak” –
Josh Sweat on his feelings after the regular-season finale: “God damn. Shit. I don’t know. At this point, I don’t know what to say.”
Can this be fixed in the playoffs?
“I don’t know. The only thing we can do is go back to practice. Try to get in the same page.

“God damn. Shit. I don’t know.” The perfect way to describe what we’ve seen the last seven weeks. Does that sound like a guy who believes we’re 0-0? Absolutely not.
