No clue who reported it first, but Jeffrey Lurie is supposed to meet with Nick Sirianni on Friday to discuss his Eagles future. That’s assuming Lurie has traded the bucolic Saint Martin for snowy and shitty Philadelphia. Yachts to potholes.

The gist of the meeting, as described by “insiders,” is that Sirianni is more or less supposed to present his plan for getting this wretched embarrassment of a football team back on track. Who is he going to hire? Who is he going to fire? What changes will be made to the offense? It’s essentially the same thing Doug Pederson and Lurie spoke about a few years ago, before the split.

That guy Honest NFL on Twitter, who had a past connection to the Eagles’ front office, wrote up a really solid letter here:

Can’t disagree with anything written. Focus on half-field reads, overhaul pre-snap mechanics, pull back on the idea of creating explosive plays, etc. More specifically, those four vertical mirrored routes should go into the waste bin along with the GOD DAMN BUBBLE SCREEN. The RPO and zone read game needs a complete overhaul as well. At some point you have to decide whether you’re allowing Jalen Hurts to play a more NFL-esque system, and removing or limiting these college concepts.

The other thing Honest talks about is blitz recognition and solution. “Executing our Hots and Sights will be second nature from now on.” That sounds great. Sirianni should just print out this letter and take it to Lurie. Pull a Claudine Gay, right? A little bit of plagiarism never hurt anyone. If it’s good, it’s worth stealing.
