Silver Lining: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Also Stink

Eagles vs. Buccaneers on Monday night. If you’re still positive about the Birds, god bless. Here are some things you can use to talk yourself into a Philly win:
- Tampa won the worst division in football
- the Eagles beat them by two touchdowns on the road in Week 3
- the Birds put up 472 yards of offense and held Baker Mayfield to less than 150 passing yards
- Tampa has three wins over teams that finished with winning records, and all three are 9-8 (Packers, Jag-wires, Saints)
- their other six wins are against the 7-10 Vikings, 7-10 Bears, 6-11 Titans, 2-15 Panthers (2x), and 7-10 Falcons
- in the last two weeks, they mustered three field goals against the Panthers and two fourth-quarter touchdowns at home in a New Orleans loss
There’s really nothing to be afraid of heading to Tampa, at least from the Buccaneers themselves. They are the definition of an average team, and they were 4-7 before going on a nice little streak that included wins against two shit teams and two middle of the pack teams.
This is going to be a “who sucks less” type of game. The team that is not complete ass will win. Coincidentally, Week 3 was one of the best games the Eagles played all year long, and while that was months ago, they controlled 38:55 of clock and ran the ball 40 times to the tune of 201 yards. Tampa is actually a top five rushing defense, so that was a huge outlier in terms of what they did over the course of the year, but they’re a bottom-five passing defense, and A.J. Brown’s availability is obviously huge here.
That’s pretty much it. That’s our full breakdown of this game. One team is totally average and the other has a ton of talent but currently blows. It should be an abhorrent football game. An instant classic!
