Doc Rivers Adds New Excuse to Already Impressive List

The Milwaukee Bucks are 49-27 and second place in the East. Problem is that they stink on the road, 18-20 away from Fiserv Forum and the comforts of whatever Wisconsin provides. One of the things Doc Rivers suggests is that there’s not enough professionalism and seriousness during road trips:

“I’ve actually been sitting back and watching everything. Not just our players but our travel crew, everything…We don’t bring the necessary professionalism, seriousness on the road.”pic.twitter.com/M7sZXn9YEM

The travel crew? Like the bus driver? The folks who do the laundry and fold the socks? Did they use cheap detergent when they should have been using Tide Ultra Oxi Powder? Were the shootaround basketballs not inflated to the proper PSI? Giannis didn’t perform well in Washington because he didn’t get the window seat on the bus going from the hotel to the arena.
Part of me hopes this continues, just to see who else Doc can blame next. It’s everybody but him. It’s the team, it’s the schedule, it’s the altitude, it’s the dunk squad, it’s the guy in the fucking Chick-fil-A cow costume. It’s the equipment manager, the ball boy, the public address announcer, the PR staffers, the weather, the temperature in the arena, the pollen, the refs, the general manager, the owner, and the fans. It’s the cheese curds at Fiserv Forum, the traffic, the salary cap, the Phillies’ new out-of-town scoreboard, and the jersey patch.
