Embiid grabbed Mitchell’s right leg because he said he was worried Robinson would fall on his leg like Jonathan Kuminga did earlier this season.
Here’s that play again:

Whether Knicks fans want to believe Embiid did it on purpose or not doesn’t matter. They won’t let facts get in the way of a good narrative because they’ve already made up in their minds:
What’s new? Why are People surprised Embiid injured Mitchell Robinson? Embiid has been on a tear injuring players and he gets away with it! He got some incredible PR behind him!

Reminder that @JoelEmbiid was allowed to commit a dirty non basketball play & was still served him over 20+ free throws as a reward.
Robinson injured and Embiid only given a flagrant 1.
This is a child, throwing a fit and then getting rewarded for it. Great job @NBA pic.twitter.com/7C7sPz1JnQ

God dammit, Al Gore. Did you really have to go and invent the Internet?
Robinson was actually injured on two plays and was ruled out for the game:
Yes, says the guy who watched the game. This is the play that injured Robinson, he slips on the floor, Embiid slips on the floor and lands on him. You can literally see him in pain. The flagrant foul wasn’t even the same leg that got injured. pic.twitter.com/Hjd5UDAGOo

Case closed. Now onto the next narrative to debunk.
