Pennsylvania Sets New iGaming Revenue Record

Pennsylvania online casino games had a massive, record setting month of March for state gaming revenue.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported this week that all combined forms of gaming in the state set an all-time monthly high for revenue, totaling more than $554.6 million. Pennsylvania brought in more than $191 million in iGaming revenue for the month.

The previous monthly high for Pennsylvania gaming revenue was $534.2 million in December 2023.

iGaming Drives Pennsylvania Revenues

Pennsylvania set its all-time monthly high for gaming revenue past month with $554,625,294, eclipsing the December 2023 revenue record of $534,215,808. The March revenue figure was also a 7.64% increase over the $515,278,831 revenue figure for March 2023.

The vast majority of Pennsylvania gaming revenue the past month came from iGaming, as the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported $191,086,114 in revenues for the month. As usual, iSlot revenue accounted for the vast majority of revenue, totaling $135,519,554 in March, while iTable revenue accounted for $53,091,910, and iPoker revenue brought up the rear with $2,474,651.

Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course topped all operators with more than $72.28 million in iGaming revenue for the month, followed by Valley Forge Casino Resort at $50.8 million, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia at $32.75 million.

For the month, Pennsylvania brought in $82,061,953 in iGaming tax revenue. Pennsylvania reported $229,566,989 in total tax revenue through all forms of gaming and fantasy contests for March 2024.

March Madness Fuels Sports Betting

Pennsylvania users bet more than $800.7 million on sports for March, a 10.7% increase from the March 2023 handle total of $723.54 million. Despite the increase in handle, March 2024’s taxable revenue totals were down compared with the March 2023 total. Pennsylvania reported $45.58 million in taxable revenue in March 2024 compared with March 2023’s total of $50.6 million.
