Are we doing #PaulGeorgeWatch now? Is this what it’s come down to? After Brian Windhorst connected the Sixers to the 34 year old last week, saying PG is the team’s top summer target, Shams said this Monday:

“This Clippers team fully intends to keep this group together, they wanna bring back Paul George as a free agent or give him an extension, but they have not been able to reach an agreement with Paul George. There have been multiple contract offers below the max (and) they have not been able to reach a deal. They’re gonna keep trying, we’ll see if he tests free agency… they want to keep all of these guys, we’ll see if they’re able to do so.”

If that’s it for PG in a Clippers uniform, he went out in Game 6 against the Mavericks with 18 points on 6-18 shooting and shot 2-10 from three in a 114-101 loss. He had more bad games than good games in the postseason, so he’ll fit right in if the Sixers do decide to pursue him. Honestly, if you could choose between maxing out Paul George or just trading Embiid and building around Maxey, which one would you do? It’s a somewhat serious question.
