Spain, France, England, and the Netherlands are in the Euro 2024 semifinals.

If you told me at the start of the tournament that this would be the final four, I wouldn’t have questioned it at all.

However, the way in which some of these teams have reached the penultimate round of the tournament have been criticized to say the least.

Spain has arguably been the best team in the competition and that’s why La Roja sit as the +190 favorite to win the tournament going into the semifinal round.

France has the deepest roster in the tournament, but Kylian Mbappe and Co. have scored one goal of their own through five games. They forced two own goals and Mbappe scored from the penalty spot in the final group-stage game and that’s it. They’re +275 to win it all.

England have been under fire from the start of the tournament. You think the Philadelphia media is bad when the Eagles or Phillies are struggling. They have nothing on the English press drilling into their men’s soccer team.

England fell behind in each of their two knockout-round games and haven’t looked convincing in front of goal, but they’re second on the board at +250 odds.

And then at +400 there’s the Netherlands, who have been the exact opposite of England with nine goals scored in the competition.

The Dutch also have the Golden Boot favorite in Cody Gakpo. The Liverpool midfielder is the only player left in the tournament with three goals. Five players, including Harry Kane, have two each among the players remaining in the competition.

Spain and England are favored in their respective games. Spain plays France on Tuesday and England takes on the Netherlands on Wednesday.

Three of the four quarterfinals went to extra time and two of them went to penalty kicks, so it’s probably worth looking into “To Advance” bets instead of taking the straight money line.

For the Spain-France game, the best player prop bet is Mbappe to have three or more shots. He’s attempted 19 shots in the tournament and only put seven of them on target. Dani Olmo and Fabian Ruiz are the two players to look at for shots from the Spain roster. Olmo has 14 and Ruiz had 13 in the tournament. Olmo, who has been used as a substitute mostly, should start because of an injury to Pedri.

Harry Kane, Memphis Depay and Gakpo are the player prop targets for the England-Netherlands match. Kane has 15 shots in the tournament. Memphis and Gakpo have combined for 30 attempts through five games.

The shot markets are worth looking at more than goals and shots on target because the defenses at this stage of the tournament are so tough to break down. That’s also why you should approach with caution on any over bets for total goals in each match. Only one of the four quarterfinals and four of the 12 knockout round games had three or more regulation goals.
