There’s a joint practice taking place this week between the Giants and Lions and we’re on day 2 of fighting:

Guess we’ve reached the point of camp where guys are itchy. They’ve got the pads on, they’re sick of going through the motions with their teammates, and they’re ready to lay the wood on someone else. Can you blame them?

The other thing about these videos, you’ll notice a bunch of hoagie mouth Giants fans watching, yelling “fight fight fight!” and being jabronies in general. But these are open camp sessions. Open to the public! Imagine that. Not only are you actually allowed to go watch practice, but these are joint sessions and admission is free. Eagles fans, meantime, continue to get what during training camp? Mostly jack and shit. They get a nighttime practice session at Lincoln Financial Field with an entrance fee that goes to charity, and that’s about it. No Lehigh, no West Chester, and no NovaCare access unless you’re in some special group like a preferred advertiser or corporate partner. You’re limited to Eliot’s training camp statistics and whatever the beat reporters put on social media. You get the team streaming the press conferences and putting some content on their channels, but otherwise you’re observing from afar and you don’t have the in-person access you had 10, 15, or 20 years ago.

The Eagles do a lot of things well as an organization, but killing off the training camp experience has been a huge L. Training camp was a rite of passage. A pigskin pilgrimage. They killed it.
