Howie Roseman with a Rare In-Division Trade to Complete the Eagles' Receiving Corps
Breaking news on a Thursday morning:
We have agreed to terms on a trade with Washington Commanders for WR Jahan Dotson and a fifth-round pick in the 2025 draft in exchange for a third-round pick and two seventh-rounds picks from the 2025 draft. pic.twitter.com/slf7qTD0An

Good trade. There were some saying that the Eagles’ WR3 was not currently in training camp, and it looks as though Howie Roseman agreed with them so he went out and got Dotson from the Communists for a third and two 7ths.
Dotson is 24 years old and heading into his third NFL season. Obviously the Penn State people know him. He’s been good enough in Washington, a couple of 500-yard seasons behind Terry McLaurin and Curtis Samuel with guys like Sam Howell and Carson Wentz throwing him the ball. The thing that pops is 11 touchdowns, four last year but seven in his rookie year, when his yards-per-reception number was up at 14.9. He’s still fast and can still take the top off, basically what everyone was hoping Quez Watkins would be. But Dotson is head and shoulders above Quez as a receiver and while he’s not going to get the 83 targets he got last year, he’s going to see the opposing team’s third corner when he’s out there. That’s a matchup you’ll take any day of the week.
Nice move. Dotson is still on his rookie deal and has another year left before the club option hits. Howie is cooking.
