After a weekend series win over the New York Mutts:

You love to see this. The Phils hit 90 wins for the 17th time in franchise history. They had already passed the 2022 total of 87 wins and have now tied last year’s team on September 15th, with 13 games left to play. They still have to play seven on the road against the Brewers and Mets, but get the Cubs at home and Gnats on the road to wrap things up. Barring some red-hot run to close out the regular season, they will not catch the 2011 team, which won a franchise-record 102 games, but they can match the 2008, 2009, and 2010 teams, which won 92, 93, and 97 games, respectively. Going back further, the 1993 team won 97 games, and the 1983 and 1980 teams won 90 and 91, so this squad will eclipse those in regular season victories. They would need to win 97 to secure a three-way tie for the fourth-most wins in team history.

It didn’t exactly play out how everybody thought this weekend, with the Phillies getting absolutely pummeled on Friday night in a game that was not competitive. Then Cal Stevenson had the game of his life on Saturday night, knocking in the winning run and robbing the Mets of a home run with a really nice catch in center field. Taijuan Walker pitched three scoreless innings in game two and Buddy Kennedy drove home the tying run on Sunday afternoon. Fringe guys aside, J.T. Realmuto had the game-winning RBI Sunday, Bryce Harper homered for the first time since August 9th, Cristopher Sanchez was a beast, the bullpen shut it down on Saturday and Sunday, and Alec Bohm had a hit in his return to the lineup. They’ve won 5 of 6 and Mets fans are a shambles:
