Penn State paid Bowling Green a reported $1.5 million dollars for a supposed “easy win.” They were a touchdown away from pure embarrassment at the home opener. Thankfully Notre Dame got upset by a random school so nobody paid much attention to this. I asked students for score predictions before the game and the closest one I heard was 64-3. Penn State’s delusions are already in mid-season form. In all fairness, I was also convinced this would be a stampede of the little school in Ohio:

Little did I know Penn State would be losing at halftime. Also shoutout to the Bowling Green marching band, they were way more impressive than the Blue Band.

Maybe they had some nerves and kinks to work out during the home opener, but I don’t know how this team expects to beat Ohio State or have any shot at a strong playoff run if we’re allowing Bowling Green to put up 375 yards. Not a single sack either. Drew Allar is going to be fighting the overrated allegations all year.

At the end of the day, a win is a win, like Eagles fans love to say. Except in college football that’s not always true. The selection committee can take a game like this into account if Penn State is on the bubble. Who knows though, that committee usually does whatever they want anyways. If the next game vs Kent State is close, then we can sound some alarms.
