Hey listen, someone has to go stand back there so that Tommy DeVito can get his reps in. It’s not like Jones has anything better to do anyway. Hold a clipboard, go stand there with the scout team, do whatever you have to do while hitting the cap at $47 million. He’s only on year two of a four-year deal, by the way. Spotrac says there’s a potential out after this season, in which the G Men eat dead cap of $22 million next year and $11 million in 2026 (EDIT – I read that wrong, it’s dead cap of $22 million over two years, $11 million in 2025 and $11 million in 2026 with the post-June 1st designation). That’s not horrible. They need to start over anyway. Gotta get a real QB in there to throw to Malik Nabers. Daniel Jones can come to Philadelphia and thrive as Jalen Hurts’ backup. He could be the latest product of the Birds’ quarterback factory.
