A couple of people sent us this clip. It’s from the five o’clock hour of Thursday’s The Best Show Ever?, when Tyrone Johnson went in on another 97.5 the Fanatic employee who was not named:

Going back and listening to the podcast, here’s the full transcript: “So I’m gonna wait a moment before I reveal what I need to reveal. I’m gonna let you guys pick. Should I reveal the story about a certain person who works here, who talks about ‘team’ acted the first time he saw me after my grandmother died? OR – should I tell the story of what happened when I filled in for him one time and what he put in writing about how he wanted me to do? Which story should I tell later on this hour, since team is what it’s all about?… I’ve been quiet. I’ve been quiet. I make a sacrifice. Rather than say thank you, the person decided to take shots. I don’t like that. That’s all.”

If you go back and listen to the previous hour, Tyrone makes a reference to Mike Missanelli and being a team player, plus some tweet that I can’t find. He’s sort of joking, I think? Maybe not. He then goes on to say that “I’ll talk about team players at this radio station” in the next hour. I listened to the rest of the 5 p.m. hour for the big story reveal, but Tyrone didn’t “reveal” any stories at all. He switched it up and said “those that were tuned in for the stories, sorry, that’s my bad.” So that was a waste of time.

Anyway, it would seem to be shading of Mikey Miss. Dunno who else it would be. If you remember, five years ago, Mike apologized to Tyrone after the blowup that saw him chuck his headphones across the room and mouth an F-bomb at him. That was after a heated argument about the white New York lady who called the cops on the black bird watcher. Hilarious shit. So there’s always been some lingering animosity there, for that episode and other reasons. I don’t know what the relationship is like now, since Mike’s return, but I feel pretty safe in saying that they aren’t sending each other Christmas cards in 2024. Whether or not it bubbles over and causes legitimate strife remains to be seen. In the meantime, let’s get it back to your phone calls. 610-632-0975.
