Seth Joyner's Face Turn is the Most Surprising Thing About this Eagles Season
What happened to Seth Joyner? Did someone abduct him and replace him with a robot Seth Joyner? Is this like Quantico, where there are actually two Seth Joyners running an FBI operation and you don’t know which one you’re actually talking to? Here he is going positive AGAIN –
Until the efficiency of the passing game and Jalen Hurts is the reason for the Eagles downfall, everyone needs to shut up and enjoy the ride… pic.twitter.com/Vc4MTCJdRh

“This team is in position for a Super Bowl run. And all that everybody wants to talk about is that ‘oh Jalen Hurts might be the reason why this team doesn’t advance to the Super Bowl.’ What kind of small thinking is that? Well let me tell you something. Let me tell you about this quarterback. Every time this year when this team has needed him to show up and show out, he has shown up and shown out. Now it might not be to the numbers that the gurus, and everybody in this pass-happy NFL thinks that those numbers should be. But let me ask you a question; would you rather have Justin Herbert and his four interceptions last week? Would you like to have Jordan Love and his three interceptions last week? Or would you love to have Russell Wilson and his garbage time numbers last week and his pedestrian play last week? How would you like to have Sam Darnold, who pretty much puked on his shoes over the last two weeks? That’s what you want? You’d rather have a quarterback that throws for 300 yards and you lose the damn game? All we want to talk about is the fact that he (Hurts) is the weak link, when all he’s shown us since he’s been here is that he’s a winner, that he knows how to win, that he knows how to make it happen when it matters the most. Isn’t that what’s most important for your quarterback? Are we so drunk on the numbers that we can’t see the reality of that?”
The irony of Seth Joyner telling us all to “shut up and enjoy the ride” should not be lost on anyone. This is the same Joyner who complained about interceptions when the Eagles’ defense was leading the league in interceptions. The same Joyner who was uber-negative during last year’s winning streak while everyone else was trying to “enjoy the ride.” Same Seth Joyner who was whining about pressuring the quarterback at a point when the Eagles had 23 sacks through seven games, which was their highest total in 15 years.
Seth has been THE KING of telling us that it’s not good enough, no matter how well the Birds are playing, so for him to suddenly morph into Taylor Swift and tell everyone to calm down is high comedy.
But I don’t hate it. Positive Seth Joyner is a welcome addition to the admittedly-limited ranks of pragmatic Philadelphia sports media. I’m just fascinated with what actually happened here. Why the flip? Did he have enough of Joe DeCamara’s Negadelphia and pull an about face? Did he come to a realization that he was annoying people? Or is this a blip on the radar and he’ll go back to complaining next season? I don’t know, but we welcome Seth coming over to Crossing Broad’s side of the aisle. This is like Hulk Hogan leaving the NWO. It’s like Darth Vader turning on Emperor Palpatine. It’s like John Fetterman all of a sudden becoming a Republican.
