Three-Win Giants Running it Back with Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen
The Giants are gonna run it back after a three-win season:
New York Giants HC Brian Daboll and GM Joe Schoen “will continue in their respective roles with the organization,” Giants President John Mara announced in a statement.

We can make fun of these goobers, because who brings back a couple of bozos that oversaw the Daniel Jones debacle and a regression from nine wins to six to three? John Mara, that’s who.
Trying to see it from his perspective, that organization has had a lot of turnover in recent years and has rifled through coaches. Since Tom Coughlin’s 2016 departure, they’ve gone through Ben McAdoo, four games of Spagz, Pat Shurmur, and then Joe Judge, who is a disgrace to the great borough of Lansdale. Daboll comes in, wins nine games the first year, then wins a playoff game, and that sets a bar that was probably too high for a rebuilding team. Jones ended up not being the guy and they let Saquon Barkley walk, which you could argue made sense for them at the time despite the fact that he wound up becoming a 2,000-yard rusher for a division rival.
So from Mara’s perspective, he’s probably looking for stability. Continuity. Daboll, you’ll recall, butted heads with Wink Martindale and some other staffers, leading to turnover this past offseason, but if you axe him now, you’re redoing the whole thing again. If they find a quarterback, that corner can be turned.. I think? They’ve got a WR1 in place, the offensive line is less shambolic than it once was, and there are some pieces on defense. That’s the best I can come up with about that roster. Anyway, best of luck!
John Mara is asked why the Giants had a 3-14 record if he believes in the front office and head coach:
“Because we stunk this year. The results on the field were not what we wanted them to be. There were a number of factors that went into that.” pic.twitter.com/LI4uMWEHBS

John Mara is asked how long it will take for the Giants to improve:
“It better not take too long, because I’ve just about run out of patience.” pic.twitter.com/XqoDo1EqEd
