Sheetz lover and despicable Skook Russell Joy brought to our attention this story from Travels with the Post:

LIMERICK PA – A proposal to build a new Sheetz convenience store and fueling station in Limerick Township will be the subject of a Tuesday (Feb. 18, 2025) hearing to be conducted at 7 p.m. by its Board of Supervisors. The meeting, in the municipal building at 646 W. Ridge Pike, is open to the public and free to attend.

As Limerick’s governing body, the board will discuss and review a Sheetz Inc. application for approval of a zoning law conditional use to proceed with the project. It was announced in a legal notice published Feb. 4 and 11.

Sheetz indicates it hopes to build a 6,139-square foot store on the vacant and unimproved property that is within Limerick’s Main Street zoning district. It would include a drive-through window, a six-pump gasoline station, parking for customer and over-sized vehicles, an unloading zone, signage, and trash enclosures, the legal notice says.

The proposed location is at the intersection of Ridge Pike and Swamp Pike, where the Limerick Diner is. Most intriguing, perhaps, is that a super Wawa already exists at this very corner. Is there any other location on the planet where a Sheetz and a Wawa are across the street from one another? I can’t think of one off the top of my head. This would be the touch screen food and gas station equivalent of George Washington crossing the Delaware River on Christmas night to launch a surprise attack on the Trentonian Hessians.

If approved, this would mark Sheetz’s official incursion into Philadelphia’s surrounding counties. They do have stores in the Reading area, and up in the Lehigh Valley, but nothing in Montco, Chesco, or Bucks. (Editor’s Note: Both Sheetz and Wawa submitted plans to Schuylkill Township in the Phoenixville area in 2024. The proposed sites would sit catty-corner from one another. These proposals have been met with plenty of blowback from residents, though they should feel blessed to have this opportunity.) The trench has been dug along route 100 and the Pottstown-to-Downingtown corridor:

The question is whether or not Sheetz is any good. It’s okay. If you like clogged arteries, you’ll enjoy Sheetz. Wawa makes better sandwiches, Sheetz makes better fried stuff, which is what they eat in the hinterlands of Fettermanville. That’s the very basic breakdown. And of course you’ve got all these whiners who think Wawa sucks these days, because the bread is different and the meat isn’t any good, and blah blah etc. If you don’t like Wawa and prefer Sheetz, congrats, you’re on the same team as this guy:
