With Doug Nussmeier following Kellen Moore to NOLA, the Birds have a new QB coach:

First things first, “Scot” with one T is gonna be a huge pain in the ass to remember.

Second, Loeffler has been around the block over the last three decades. He was Michigan’s quarterback in the mid-90s but went into coaching after graduation because of a shoulder injury. He was a grad assistant with the Wolverines, then QB coach for Central Michigan before returning to Ann Arbor to take on the same role. He had a short stint with the Detroit Lions, then went to Florida and eventually followed Steve Addazio to Temple to become offensive coordinator and QB coach. He was only here for one season, but it was a good season, a 9-4 finish that included a bowl win over Wyoming. Strange quarterback year, though, because they went through three different guys in Mike Gerardi, Chester Stewart, and Chris Coyer. Loeffler then had the same role, OC/QBs, for Auburn, the Virginia Polytechnic Hokie Chokers, and Boston College. He then took the Bowling Green head coaching job and went 27-41 over six seasons.

Big Dom better be ready:
