The Philadelphia Flyers Have Traded Scott Laughton
It finally happened after what felt like 17 years of Scott Laughton rumors at the trade deadline:
Leafs are getting Scott Laughton

#Flyers have traded C Scott Laughton to #LeafsForever.
— Frank Seravalli (@frank_seravalli) March 7, 2025
Seravalli says the Flyers are getting back a conditional 1st round draft pick and 21-year-old prospect Nikita Grebenkin, who came over from Russia this season and has spent most of his time playing for the Toronto Marlies. He has 21 points in 39 games and is left-handed, 6’2″ right winger. We’ll update the story when we get the full trade details. There’s some chatter about late-round picks going to Toronto in the deal.
EDIT – some trade details from TSN and LeBrun:

Sorry the Leafs’ first round pick going to Philadelphia is 2027, not 2026. And again, it’s top-10 protected https://t.co/ObEvJvNfr2

Honestly though, happy for Laughton that he gets to go to a contender. Don’t laugh. The Leafs will break through at some point in the 21st Century. Maybe they do it with Laughton in their ranks, bolstering a team that’s second in the Atlantic with 79 points. Laughton has always been a really good guy, good for the locker room, high character, all of that, so it’s nice to see him go to Toronto as opposed to San Jose or Anaheim or some hockey purgatory. And the saga is finally over for him. No longer does he have to hear, nonstop, that he’s going to be shipped out as soon as the right deal comes along. It was, indeed, the last supper.
Best of luck to the guy.
