The Sixers, on a One-Game Winning Streak, are a Three-Point Point Favorite Against Blazers
The Sixers are a three-point favorite against the Portland Trailblazers on Monday.
That’s appropriate because today is March 3rd, or Threesday or Trey Day, as the sportsbooks call it. It’s one of the better NBA days for PA betting promos and NJ sportsbook promos.
DraftKings is offering a profit boost on a Threes prop parlay, Same Game Parlay or SGPx. FanDuel has a 30 percent profit boost on a three-leg SGP or SGP+ of +100 or longer.
Unfortunately, both the Blazers and Sixers rank in the bottom third of three-point shooting in the NBA.
Conversely, the Sixers have the fifth-worst opposing three-point percentage.
To make matters even worse, Tyrese Maxey, one of the best three-point shooters in the matchup, went 1-for-14 from three-point range last week. The finger injury is clearly affecting his shooting from beyond the arc, but he is still attacking the rim.
Maxey’s over/under on threes sits at 3.5, while his points prop sits at 28.5. It’s easy to target Maxey props with Joel Embiid out, but he only had 48 total points in three games last week.
If it wasn’t for Quentin Grimes’ career performance on Saturday, we’d probably be complaining more about Maxey’s lack of production.
Grimes will likely have more of the spotlight on him on Monday because of the 44-point performance, which came after nine combined points in the last two games. Grimes’ props sit at 14.5 points and 2.5 threes for Monday.
Paul George is the other notable player for props because he’s experienced an uptick in production over the last week, so it’s perfect that he is now listed as questionable with a left groin issue.
George hauled in eight rebounds in each of the last two games, contributed 11 total assists and hit seven three pointers against the Knicks and Warriors.
If he plays, George’s props sit at 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.5 threes.
While it is Threesday, Trey Day, whatever you call, it could be a rebound festival for the Sixers on Monday. The Blazers just pushed the Cavs to overtime and they are shorthanded in the paint with Deandre Ayton out.
There are very few games where I’d suggest to bet on Andre Drummond, but this matchup feels tailor made for him.
Rookie center Donovan Clingan has been susceptible to foul trouble. He had six fouls in 11 minutes on Sunday. The depth behind him isn’t so great either.
Drummond had a 10-point, 14-rebound double-double in 21 minutes against the Warriors on Saturday. Three Cavaliers had at least eight rebounds against the Blazers on Sunday, with Jarrett Allen leading the team with 10.
George, Grimes, and Kelly Oubre are all worth looking into on rebound props too, but I will note Oubre’s production on the glass has been most affected by Drummond’s return to the starting lineup. Oubre had just seven combined boards versus the Knicks and Warriors. Of course, the approach on Oubre changes if George doesn’t play.
As for the three-point props, I’d look into Grimes and Anfernee Simons. Simons is the Blazers’ top three-point shooter and hit at least three shots from deep in four of the last five games.
I’d look into a combination of Drummond rebounds, Grimes threes and either the under on Maxey’s threes or George rebounds to fill out the requirements of the SGP promos.
