Shams Says Joel Embiid Went to Josh Harris to Talk About the State of his Injured Knee
Shams had a report before the Sixers vs. Warriors game that Joel Embiid bypassed the front office and went all the way to Josh Harris to tell him how bad his knee injury was before being shut down:
“Joel Embiid went directly to 76ers owner on state of his knee” – Shams

Jeez. More he said/he said BS from this organization. Embiid says his knee is screwed up and he needs better treatment options. The training staff says he needs to get in better shape and it’ll heal itself. Are we serious? Get in shape and the injury will heal itself? What a hilarious medical opinion to offer to a guy with chronic knee issues. Whoever offered that should have their license revoked. The guy just got meniscus surgery and didn’t let it heal. How can he get into shape and heal his knee when he can’t use his knee to get in shape? We were also being told the injections weren’t healing the swelling, but Shams reported the swelling was well managed this season. It’s easy to tell this report was fed to him from the Sixers. Lot of people trying to save their asses and doing damage control across the bridge right now. The Grim Reaper is coming and it’s just Bob Myers with a paintball gun Ari Gold style.
Now Embiid clashing with the medical staff is nothing new, but typically it’s the other way around. Usually you read reports that he wants to play against the training staff’s wishes and he’s said that it’s hard for people in the building to change his mind and that he should be smarter about his load management. Now it sounds like the complete opposite. Reading between the lines here, if Embiid had to go to Josh Harris for him to be shut down it sure seems like Daryl Morey and the front office weren’t listening and wanted Embiid to play on his bad knee. I don’t know how else you can read into it other than that. Now of course this leaves the fans with more questions. Why is the training staff not listening to their banged up franchise player the org just gave another $200 million to this summer? What happened to the load management plan? Did they completely throw it out the window when the Sixers found themselves with four wins on December 1st and watching the lifeless corpse of Paul George?
The reports that Morey pushed for the extension while Josh Harris was weary to shell out the money throws even more gas on the fire that Morey was probably trying to save his job:

Also is Magic Johnson making personnel decisions for the Sixers now? What an absolute shit show this franchise continues to be. At this point it feels like it’s going to be Bob Myers in the GM position next year and they’ll just trade roles between the Commies and Sixers front offices as the years go on.
The worst part of this whole thing is the fact they won last night:
