During the National Anthem, Jason Garrett Anticipates Michael Bennett Will Do “What All of Our Players Do”

Michael Bennett is now a Dallas Cowboy after his New England Patriots tenure didn’t amount to much of anything.

The Cowboys got him super cheap, sending a 7th rounder to the Pats in exchange, but one thing I didn’t really consider about the move was Bennett’s stance on the national anthem and how that interfaces with Jerry Jones’ attitude towards demonstrations. Jerry said last year that he wouldn’t support players remaining in the locker room during the playing of the song, which is what Bennett does.

Something’s gotta give, right?

Here’s an exchange from Jason Garrett’s press conference this afternoon:

Reporter: He’s been a guy for the anthem he stayed in the locker room. Have you guys had any discussions with him about that?

Garrett: Yeah we don’t anticipate that being an issue. We’re just excited to have him here.

Other reporter: Would that (inaudible) because he’d be on the sidelines?

Garrett: Yeah again, we’re excited to have him here as a player and we anticipate him doing what all of our players do.

Interesting! We’ll see what happens. If Bennett decides to stay in the locker room, that could make some white people uncomfortable, namely Jerruh.
