Gabe Kapler Has Surprisingly Good Taste in Hip Hop

We’ll get it back to the Eagles and the NFL draft momentarily, but first a short baseball story.

Former Phillies manager Gabe Kapler filled out a hip hop bracket put together by Giants short stop Brandon Crawford, and his selections are totally spot on. There’s a bit of west coast bias here, but I personally agree with almost everything in this field of 64:

Nas is absolutely better than Jay-Z.

Tupac is also the only correct choice to win this entire bracket. Also, Crawford ranked Wu Tang waaaaay too low, which resulted in a second round matchup with Notorious BIG. That’s highly questionable. And noticeably absent are UGK, Three 6 Mafia, and some of the other dirty south groups that were active before that wave of crappy Atlanta rappers came out and screwed things up.

Nice job by Gabe Kapler. Maybe he wasn’t the best baseball manager, but he’s got excellent musical taste.
