You an early tip off person or a late tip off person?

Hope you like the 6:30 p.m. games, because the Sixers and Celtics are going to play three in a row to begin their first round playoff series. Here’s the full schedule:

The Flyers are playing Sunday/Tuesday, so no overlap just yet. That’ll be a nice stretch of Philly playoff games for three-straight nights. If, however, the Flyers get to a game five, they’ll switch to Wednesday/Friday beginning on the 19th, so it’s looking like we’re gonna see the local basketball team and local hockey team playing on the same days.

Add in the Phillies, who play every night except for Monday, it’s going to be a jam-packed week. The Union actually play on Friday as well, and if the Flyers go to a game six against the Canadiens, we could quite possibly have the Flyers, Sixers, Phillies, and Union all playing at the same time. Has that ever happened before? I don’t think it has. It would be contingent on the Flyers’ start time next Friday.

Anyway, the Sixers beat the Celtics 3-1 in the regular season series, so they match up relatively well with Boston. Ben Simmons’ absence is going to be felt on the defensive end most, since they could use another body to figure out who matches up with Tatum/Brown/Walker on the perimeter. They’ve got the clear advantage on the interior with Joel Embiid, but need to prevent those talented guards and wings from scoring.
