Tuukka Rask Decides to Opt Out, Leaves Bubble to Rejoin Family

Huge NHL bubble news right here:

Rask started both games in the Bruins/Hurricanes series, which is currently tied 1-1. Game three is set to begin in just about an hour, so Jaroslav Halak now finds himself as Boston’s #1 goaltender for the remainder of the playoffs.
The Stanley Cup-winning goaltender has two children at home, plus a newborn, which GM Don Sweeney mentioned when discussing Rask’s opt-out decision:
Don Sweeney on Rask: “He just felt that he needed to be home with [his kids]…the priorities are in the right order so this is what he has to do at this time.”

No judgment here.
From an on-ice standpoint, this greatly benefits the Canes, Flyers, and anybody else in the Eastern Conference that might have run up against the Bruins in the playoffs. Big loss for Boston.
