Beasley Media Group is Moving on From 610 ESPN

Developing news on the Philadelphia radio front.
Sources tell Crossing Broad that Beasley Media Group is leasing 610 ESPN to iHeartRadio, which will then flip formats.
The station had hosted sports programming for YEARS in Philadelphia, from the mid-1980s until now. It switched call letters back in 2014, a few years after CBS Radio moved 610 WIP to the FM dial and then swapped stations with Beasley, which has been running a combination of local and national programming on it ever since. Villanova men’s basketball aired on the station.
The way Beasley is set up in Philadelphia, they’ve got five stations operating out of the big building in Bala, which are 97.5 the Fanatic, 93.3 WMMR, 102.9 WMGK, 92.5 WXTU, and BEN-FM. 610 ESPN operates out of the 555 building, along with WWDB 860 AM, which is where Snow the Goalie and Crossing Broadcast aired for a short time over the winter. It’s our understanding that Beasley is keeping WWDB, which would provide a home for some of the local shows currently on WTEL, if they decide to go that route.
