So last week Zach Ertz expressed displeasure with his current contract situation, saying that he wanted to stay in Philadelphia forever, but that he didn’t think the feeling was mutual.

It was candid and blunt, and apparently there was a clash with GM Howie Roseman regarding that very subject, according to Ian Rapoport:

An airing of grievances? Like Festivus?

“I’ve got a lot of problems with you people!”

This could be a good thing or a bad thing, really. Either they finally just hashed it out and put everything on the table, which leads to a renewed effort to sign a long-term deal. OR, perhaps it was the last straw and Howie has now firmly decided he’s not going to give Ertz what he wants.

Watch Zach go out and have a huge game today. Wouldn’t that be fitting?
