The Eagles Turned Another Opponent into “Player of the Week”

Calais Campbell had three sacks on Sunday afternoon, good enough to earn AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors. He was all over Carson Wentz and spent most of the day in the Birds’ backfield.
The running joke is that the Eagles always turn an opposing quarterback into the second-coming of Joe Montana, or a defensive player looks more like prime Reggie White, and as such, this is a great tweet from Dave Zangaro that more or less turns the joke into a sad reality:
Calais Campbell was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
This is incredible. The Eagles have faced a Player of the Week in all four of their losses:
Week 1: Ryan Kerrigan
Week 2: Micah Kiser
Week 5: Chase Claypool
Week 6: Calais Campbell— Dave Zangaro (@DZangaroNBCS) October 21, 2020
Insanity.
Ryan Kerrigan had two sacks and a fumble recovery in week one while Micah Kiser logged 15 tackles in the Rams’ win. Chase Claypool, as you know, scored four touchdowns while torching the Eagles for 110 yards on seven receptions and finding the end zone on the ground as well.
It’s a Philadelphia epidemic. We’re #1 in bringing out opponent’s best games, whether that’s Chase Claypool, Calais Campbell, or T.J Warren dropping a 50-piece on the Sixers in the bubble.
