If you’re following the Britt Reid story out in Kansas City, here’s a positive development.

The little girl who was critically hurt in the car crash is no longer in a coma, according to an update here on the GoFundMe page:

Great news, because she had been in a coma since February 7th, which was more than a week ago.

There’s no update right now on the younger Reid, who told police at the scene he had 2-3 drinks and a prescription for Adderall. At last check, he was no longer with the Chiefs following the expiration of his contract. Kansas City police released a statement one week ago informing the public that “most serious-injury/fatality crashes take weeks to investigate,” explaining that prosecutors seek a completed case file before filing charges. That would include toxicology, witness statements, crash reconstruction, and other information.

On the night of the accident, Reid was driving onto a highway entrance ramp when he struck two cars parked on the side of the road.
