Ronald Torreyes, Phillies Lose Lengthy Pregame Anthem Standoff
By Bob Wankel

There was high drama before the first pitch of tonight’s game.
Outside the Marlins’ dugout stood Magneuris Sierra. Outside the opposite dugout stood Ronald Torreyes. What ensued in the following moments was an all-time anthem standoff between the two. It was an intense battle, a test of will, endurance, and desire.
Reminded me of these timeless lyrics from John Cafferty’s Hearts on Fire from Rocky IV:
Hearts on fire
Strong desire
Rages deep within
Hearts on fire
Fever’s rising high
The moment of truth draws near
I was getting some rainbow sherbet in the cafeteria, so I missed the start of this showdown. Luckily, I returned to my seat in time to catch its enthralling conclusion.

Just the latest of gut-wrenching losses for the Phils. To their credit, however, they are rallying around Torreyes early on tonight. They lead the Marlins by a 4-1 score at the time of this post.
Update: Lol. Nope. They lost the game, too.
