National Basketball Association

The Cleveland Cavaliers have a deal with Caesars Sportsbook that makes the sportsbook an official sports betting partner. Caesars Online Sportsbook History

Caesars Online Sportsbook first launched in Nevada on Sept. 5, 2017, as part of a soft launch of its new online sports betting app. Of course, that wasn’t Caesars Entertainment’s first foray into Nevada, as Caesars Palace was opened in 1966, paving the way for themed resorts on the Las Vegas Strip. Caesars should certainly benefit from the acquisition of William Hill PLC, as William Hill pulled in 32% of the total gross revenue market share, with just under 70% of their bets coming from online wagers.

Caesars then expanded its online sports betting business to the East Coast, launching in New Jersey on Sept. 6, 2018. This was important on a few levels, most notably because online sports betting in the Garden State had only gone live in the prior month. Not every company with permission to operate an online sportsbook was ready to roll on Day 1, which meant the demand for online sports betting was high, but the supply of apps was low. Given the name recognition of Caesars in Atlantic City, the sportsbook has been successful in the Garden State.

Caesars Online Sportsbook crossed the border westward into Pennsylvania on March 10, 2020, allowing bettors in the Keystone State to get in on the action online via their app for the first time. The issue for Caesars Online Sportsbook in Pennsylvania was the sheer number of other apps available to bettors. Plus, the app that launched in Pennsylvania wasn’t the superior app found in other states. As such, Caesars struggled to gain a strong foothold in the state. Just two months later, Caesars Online Sportsbook hit the Midwest after it gained approval to launch in Indiana on May 19, 2020.

On April 21, 2021, Caesars Entertainment acquired William Hill PLC. This acquisition led to a massive rebranding effort and the relaunch of an incredible legal online sports betting app. The rebranding campaign saw the company commit to a $1 billion ad spend across TV, radio, and internet ads. This featured comedians JB Smoove and Patton Oswalt, actress Halle Berry, as well as former NFL quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning.
