It’s been quiet since we entered the “Deal Zone,” so here’s NBA Insider Jordan Schultz with a rumor on the Ben Simmons-for-James Harden trade front:

I thought we were in the Deal Zone? When you’re going Mach 5 in the Deal Zone you can’t just abort the mission:

Also – how much are we supposed to believe a guy who has a podcast with CJ McCollum and didn’t even break the CJ McCollum trade?

Quick thoughts on this rumor: I’m willing to part with Matisse Thybulle, but you will have to pry Tyrese Maxey from my cold dead hands, Charlton Heston style. Matisse Thybulle can be a Defensive Player of the Year, but he’s a major liability on offense. I’m trying to win titles. It’s great he can lock up a team’s best guard, but he’s unplayable in crunch time of the playoffs on the offensive side of the ball. If I’m Daryl Morey I’m asking for Bruce Brown or Patty Mills in return. Add some buyout guys who know their role is defense and rebounding and let’s kick this shit into overdrive.

P.S. fair or unfair I will be adding a lot of reporters to the “Fake News” bucket after this deadline. And once you’re labeled “Fake News” I can never trust you again. Those are the rules. Brian Windhorst and Keith Pompey, an entire nation turns its lonely eyes to you.
